The following is a possible draft of a letter to be sent around the 150 or so businesses in Beecroft. It will be discussed in our September meeting.
Businesses of Beecroft
Who we are and why we are
A group of businesses in the Beecroft Shopping Village have formed an organisation named BOB, for “Businesses of Beecroft”. This letter is to inform you of our objectives and to ask for your involvement and support with what we are trying to achieve.
Who is BOB and what does it do?
Every business located in or around the Beecroft Shopping Village is invited to be a member.
The objective of BOB is to promote the overall best interests of all of the businesses within the shopping village, by promotional activity, liaising with relevant other organisations, and acting as a single point of contact for people who need that. BOB can also coordinate and promote activities within Beecroft to maximise visibility and profitability.
What does it cost to belong to BOB?
Nothing. At this time there are no fees to belong to BOB or to attend our meetings.
How will BOB function?
We will have regular meetings to discuss plans and proposals, and will circulate newsletters to keep all interested businesses informed.
We have a blog, businessesofbeecroft.blogspot.com, on which news of events, meetings, and anything else of interest will be published. The blog is open to the general public, but is intended primarily for BOB members and BOB business.
At present we hold a monthly meeting, on the first Tuesday of each month, at 08:30. The venue will probably be the Ray White Beecroft office in The Module, but this may change. Meeting details will appear on our blog, along with an agenda and minutes of meetings.
Who are the BOB Committee Members?
At this stage we have not formally elected a committee. The names of some of the founding members of the group, and their businesses, can be found on our blog for 2 August, at http://businessesofbeecroft.blogspot.com/2010/08/minutes-of-last-bob-meeting.html.
What do we need from you?
We want to know all the people who are interested in being active within the group, or who wish to receive our newsletters. We ask you to register your interest with (one of our focus group members eg) Peter Hewitt at Ray White Beecroft, by email (peter.hewitt@raywhite.com), phone (0417 215 74), mail (PO Box 604 Beecroft), or visit (Shop 5 The Module Hannah Street).
